Davis Broadcasting hosts 20th annual Women’s Empowerment Luncheon

On Fri., March 15, Davis Broadcasting, Inc., hosted its much-anticipated 20th Women Empowerment Luncheon at the Columbus Convention and Trade Center. With over 1,250 tickets sold, the event marked a significant milestone in Davis’ ongoing commitment to empowering women in the community.

For two decades, the luncheon has been a cornerstone of inspiration and fellowship for women in Columbus. It originated as a platform for women to fellowship and feel empowered.

Before the luncheon commenced, attendees had the opportunity to participate in a financial wellness breakout session. This session, led by renowned personal finance expert Marcia Barnes, was designed to equip women with essential financial knowledge and tools to enhance their financial well-being.

This year’s keynote speaker was actress Vanessa Bell Calloway. She is best known for her roles in iconic films like Coming to America and Love Don’t Cost a Thing, as well as for guest appearances on popular shows such as Real Husbands of Hollywood. Calloway’s speech centered around the theme of “staying ready so you don’t have to get ready.” She shared insights from her career as an actress and director.

Captivating musical performances added to the ambiance of the luncheon. Linda Ransom took the stage, treating the audience to a rendition of Tina Turner’s greatest hits. The legendary Dorinda Clark, the “Rose of Gospel,” electrified the crowd with her soul-stirring vocals. A member of the Grammy Award-winning gospel group The Clark Sisters, Clark gave a performance that was nothing short of spectacular, leaving attendees uplifted and inspired.

As we reflect on two decades, the Women Empowerment Luncheon was not just a celebration of success but a testament to the resilience, strength and solidarity of women everywhere.
