COLUMBUS, Ga. — Columbus Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Wednesday night at the Elizabeth Canty Homes.
Officers responded to reports of gunfire at 200 20th Ave. around 8:34 p.m., where they found 38-year-old Sekedra McCoy suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
McCoy was transported by EMS to Piedmont Columbus Regional, where she was pronounced dead from her injuries , leading to the Columbus Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit taking over the investigation.
