The Black History Month Observance Committee is thrilled to announce the 40th Annual Black History Month Observance Committee Breakfast will take place at 7 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 17, 2025 at the Columbus, Georgia Convention & Trade Center.
This philanthropic event celebrates the triumphs and struggles of African Americans throughout U.S. history while fostering community spirit and engagement.
Over the years, this esteemed breakfast has featured notable speakers, including the Honorable Benny G. Thompson, Congressman from Mississippi’s Second Congressional District, and the Honorable Hakeem Jeffries, Democratic Leader. This year, we are excited to welcome the Honorable Jasmine Crockett, Congresswoman from Texas’ 30th District, as our keynote speaker. Her insights and experiences will undoubtedly inspire attendees as we reflect on the significance of Black History Month.
For the past 40 years, proceeds from this breakfast have been instrumental in recognizing and supporting numerous agencies and organizations that provide charitable, cultural, social, educational and other vital services to our community.
Additionally, we honor Community Points of Light, Unsung Heroes, Emerging Leaders and Legacy of Service Leaders who have made impactful contributions to our community’s sustainability.
