Three Suspects Arrested in Deadly Columbus Shooting

Columbus, Ga. — Three additional suspects have been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of 15-year-old Earkavion Lee, according to authorities.

Gregory Nelson, 17, Marquis Roberts, 17 and Demetrius Miles, 19, were taken into custody on Sept. 24, 2024. Each faces multiple charges, including murder, six counts of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and two counts of second-degree criminal damage to property.

All three suspects were scheduled to appear in Recorder’s Court on Sept. 26.

Earlier in the investigation, Roannil Clanton was arrested on Sept. 19, 2024. He faces charges of murder and six counts of aggravated assault related to the shooting, which took place in Columbus and claimed the life of Lee.

Clanton appeared in court on Sept. 24, 2024. His arrest involved cooperation between the Columbus Police Department, the Muscogee County Sheriff's Office, the FBI, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.
