Suspect Arrested in Columbus Drive-Thru Shooting Injuring 10-Year-Old

A suspect has been arrested in connection with a January 18 shooting at a McDonald's drive-thru that left a 10-year-old child with a gunshot wound to the head.

Police identified Jaymar Davis, 21, as the suspect in the case. Davis was arrested on February 25, 2025, and charged with three counts of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

He is scheduled to appear in Recorder’s Court at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 27.

The shooting occurred around 10:50 p.m. at McDonald's on 4121 Buena Vista Road. Authorities reported that a vehicle in the drive-thru was shot into, striking the child who was seated in the back.

Surveillance footage captured multiple vehicles in the area at the time, leading investigators to believe there were witnesses who have not yet come forward.

The Columbus Police Department continues to urge anyone with information to assist in the investigation. Witnesses can contact Cpl. J. Berger at 706-225-4325 and may remain anonymous.
