Friday, Sept. 13, 2024, at noon, 11th Street from 1st Avenue to Broadway will be closed until 11:30 p.m. The closure is a result of the Bikes on Broadway event.

Columbus Civic Center Welcomes Back Spookfest with a Double Feature

The Columbus Civic Center is thrilled to announce the return of its highly anticipated annual event, Spookfest, celebrating another year of thrilling Halloween festivities!

This year’s Spookfest is set to be bigger and better, bringing the community together for a spooktacular night of fun, frights, and family-friendly entertainment on October 12, 2024, from 7:30  – 11 p.m. This event is free to the public!

The Columbus Civic Center Amphitheater will transform into a haunted haven with eerie decorations, chilling surprises, and a special treat for movie lovers.

Also, a double feature on the big screen will be held, showcasing two iconic films that have captivated audiences worldwide: Beetlejuice and The Exorcist.

Double Feature Details: • Beetlejuice (1988) – A Tim Burton classic, Beetlejuice is a dark comedy that tells the quirky tale of a recently deceased couple who enlist the help of a rambunctious poltergeist to scare away the new inhabitants of their home. With its unique blend of humor, fantasy, and horror, Beetlejuice is perfect for audiences of all ages looking for a fun and slightly spooky experience. (Starts at 7:30 p.m.) •

The Exorcist (1973) – For those seeking a spine-tingling experience, The Exorcist is a timeless horror masterpiece that continues to haunt audiences with its terrifying portrayal of a young girl possessed by a demonic force. Known for its intense atmosphere and iconic scenes, this film remains one of the most influential horror movies ever. (Starts at 9 p.m.)

Guests are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the films comfortably under the stars.

Gates open at 6:30 p.m. and there will be Halloween-themed activities and contests for all ages, along with trick-or-treating stations throughout the Columbus Civic Center Amphitheater.

Local food vendors offering seasonal treats are asked to apply to vend, and candy donations are being accepted to ensure every trick-or-treater has a magical experience.

Traditionally, more than 5,000 attendees each year.
