The Georgia House of Representatives' Committee on Assignments recently named State Representative Teddy Reese (D-Columbus) to serve on the House Agriculture & Consumer Affairs Committee and the Special Committee on Resource Management for the 2025-2026 legislative term. Reese was also reappointed to the Economic Development & Tourism and Public and Community Health committees.
"I am honored to be serving on these committees, where I will have the opportunity to address critical issues impacting our state," Reese said. "As Georgia's largest economic sector, agriculture is vital to our way of life, and I am committed to advancing policies that support our farmers, ensure food safety and strengthen the agricultural and consumer industries. I'm also eager to begin working with the Special Committee on Resource Management. It is our responsibility to manage Georgia's resources wisely, from water to land, ensuring they are used sustainably to benefit both our environment and our economy. I would like to thank the Committee on Assignments for their confidence in me, and I'm excited for the opportunity to contribute to these important efforts."
The House Agricultural and Consumer Affairs Committee reviews legislation that affects Georgia's largest economic sector, agriculture. The committee also addresses issues related to human nutrition, food safety, consumer food consumption and the plant industry.
