Q&A with Terrance Little of Lil Boyz Entertainment

Q&A with Terrance Little of Lil Boyz Entertainment
Terrance Little owner and founder of Lil Boyz Entertainment.

Question: What inspired you to start Lil Boyz Entertainment, and what’s the story behind the name?

Answer: “I was inspired by a guy named Oscar Jones who started me in the music industry. He and a few soldiers wanted me to manage the group. I took a liking to the business and research aspect of the business and decided that I wanted to accomplish more with it.”

Question: What sets your record label apart from others in the industry?

Answer: “Major labels have me beat all the way. They have way more funds available for artists. My business is more personal. We are more like a family and not just business all the time.”

Question: What are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced as a record label owner, and how did you overcome them?

Answer: “The biggest challenges are dealing with scammers and knowing who can really move your music and people who just want your money and don’t care if your music is a success or not. It’s way too many people who just want the money. So, you really got to find your own legit resources.”

Question: How do you discover and decide which artists to sign to your label?

Answer: “The artists that I signed showed ability to be marketable and a lot of patience. Success does not happen overnight, and you got to manage artists that understand that and the work ahead.”

Question: What’s been your proudest moment or achievement with the label so far?

Answer: “My proudest moments is being able to get JawGa Boi and Huncho D.White real certified plaques for their hard work. Putting points on the board according to major label. Also getting them on nationally televised TV shows was a great moment. No Artist in the Tri-City has accomplished that achievement.”

Question: How do you support and develop the artists on your label beyond just producing their music?

Answer: “It really takes a lot of understanding your target audience and can they believe in the artist with the music. Major labels do not invest in artist development, so you really got to teach them everything from social media to actually creating an image.”

Question: What advice would you give aspiring artists or entrepreneurs wanting to enter the entertainment industry?

Answer: “My advice to aspiring artists is ‘SAVE YOUR MONEY’ or get a job until you actually start accruing money from your music. It takes real money to break into the music industry, honestly. You have to pay for everything.”

Question: How can people get in touch with you and find more information about Lil Boyz Entertainment?

Answer: “You can google Lil Boyz Entertainment, FB: Lil Boyz Entertainment, and IG: DaHoodExecutive.”
