Praise Fest Returns: A Day of Music, Food, and Fellowship at Woodruff Riverfront Park!

By CEL Staff

Get ready for a day filled with music, food, and fun as David’s Broadcasting holds its third annual Praise Fest this Saturday, May 11th. The event is an outdoor gospel concert put on by the radio stations Praise 100.7 and 94.1 FM/ AM 1340 WOKS. It will be held at Woodruff Riverfront Park on the campus of Columbus State University from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The festival is completely free to the public and offers family-friendly fun and fellowship opportunities for all ages. There will be giveaways, vendors, and food trucks. In previous years, attendees have won concert tickets, cash, Bluetooth speakers, t-shirts, and more. This year, one lucky guest will win four free tickets to take the whole family to Six Flags Over Georgia.

This year’s host is Gifft, Co-host of the “Get Up Morning with Erica Campbell” radio show. Guests can look forward to a musical lineup that features over ten talented gospel artists, offering a diverse range of performances from various genres, including contemporary, quartets, and hip-hop. Among the acts set to take the stage are the acclaimed local group Rizen, The Brown Boys, Latrice Pace, and others.

Pam Dixon, the Program Director for Praise, says Praise Fest was inspired by the “Celebration of Praise” event that Davis Broadcasting hosted in previous years. The goal was to create a free community concert for the Tri-City area that offers family-friendly food, fellowship, and fun while enjoying inspirational gospel.  Over the past years, the event has grown from a couple hundred attendees in the first year to over 1,5000 since the start in 2021.

Those planning to attend Praise Fest are encouraged to bring an open mind and come ready to enjoy themselves. Visitors are welcome to bring tents, umbrellas, lawn chairs, and canopies to make their experience more comfortable. To stay cool and protected, attendees should wear comfortable shoes, sunglasses, and loose-fitting clothing, and of course, don’t forget the sunscreen and bug repellent.
