Post-Election Street Poll

Post-Election Street Poll
  1. Pastor Rod Green: “It is disheartening to know that integrity, character, and truth have no longer a place in politics and no longer a place in what is civil, what is righteous and what is good for our nation. Once again, racism, bigotry, misogyny, hatred and civil chaos have taken over the nation, and it is cause for concern regarding what America really stands for. This it’s truly a sad day for the United States of America.”
  2. Jessica Parker: “I feel like I am in a state of shock and disbelief and I’m also grieving, and at times at a loss for words. I have no words. God help us.”
  3.  Vicky Washington: “I knew my vote didn’t count.”
  4. Terrell Boyd: “I knew that Donald Trump was going to win when he got the 34 felonies and didn’t go to jail. That’s how I knew he was going to be the president again.”
  5. Jatate Cozart: “Disappointed is the right word. Dis-a-damn-pointed is a better word, with a capital DAMN. But I shouldn’t be surprised because one thing the red states are gonna do is stick together.”
  6. Carol Gerald: “So, as a woman — a black woman in America — I’m hurting to know that in 2024 we are still fighting to prove that even if qualified, and even in most cases over-qualified, at the end of the day, it still isn’t enough. It’s the realization that although we as a country have made significant progress, we still are facing injustice, racism, and even gender inequality. I’m not understanding how to be in the most powerful position in the United States there are only three requirements to run for president, and none which speaks to the experience of having a political background. I’m concerned about reproductive freedom, having the same resources and opportunities as the people on the other side of the aisle, as well as democracy. I feel like this election should have been a clear indication of who was better fit to run the country, but instead we are facing an uncertain future —  and that’s what scares me.”
  7. Angela Lee: “As a black woman, I’m disappointed. I feel like for us to have overcome everything that we have, we’re still undervalued, under-appreciated, and I feel like we give the most to this world — to this world anyway. I feel like we stand up for everyone, the people who can’t stand for themselves, and no one stands up for us.”
  8. Nicole Anderson: “My honest raw reaction is I hope that everyone that voted for Trump gets exactly what they deserve! I am beyond disappointed and disgusted by the viewpoints of so many people. But why should I have even expected better?”
  9. Reggie Thomas: “This election outcome is a reflection of Democrats abusing and not addressing black Americans’ needs. Harris, along with Biden, tiptoed around black issues while putting illegal migrants, LGBTQIA, Asians ahead of us. We are the strongest base to support Democrats and they played games. Gave our community resources and funds to illegals. We got tokenism in place of tangibles and black people have had enough. When they stop blaming black men and address our communities on the issues rather than a bootie block party, black people may return.”
