Muscogee County Clerk Danielle Forte Named Superior Court Clerk of the Year

By Janell Williams

Muscogee County Clerk of Courts Danielle Forte was awarded the Superior Court Clerk of the Year award by the Georgia Association of Black County Officials (GABCO) on Dec. 8, 2024.

Forte, a native of Columbus, has served as the Muscogee County Clerk of Courts since Nov. 2018. During her tenure in the position she has successfully developed and executed programs and activities that elevated the Clerk’s Office to a new level of community commitment and involvement, including free notary public training, membership in the Georgia Superior Court Clerk’s Association, new clerk training program and more.

“Personally, these past few years have been challenging with the loss of my parents and overcoming breast cancer, all of which makes this honor extremely gratifying to say the least,” Forte said.

In her current position as Clerk of Superior and State Courts, Forte manages 40 employees and an annual departmental budget with revenues totaling more than $6 million. In the new year, Forte plans to continue her community work and further impact the residents of Muscogee County.

After initially being appointed, she promised to conduct an office that was fortified, fair and focused. She has delivered on that promise by developing events that educate constituents, delivering services that inform the community about important issues and demanding fairness in policies and procedures that impact her constituents.

“I love my hometown. Columbus deserves the very best, and I have charged myself and my outstanding staff with the mandate to provide the best service possible,” Forte said. “Our goal is to continue to pour into the community as much as we can to provide a broad range of services. That's why we started the Clerk Forte Outreach Program.”
