Man Fatally Stabbed at Warm Springs Road Restaurant; Suspect in Custody

Columbus Police say a 28-year-old man died after being stabbed during an altercation at a Warm Springs Road restaurant Jan. 21, 2025.

On Monday, officers responded to a call at Kick N Chicken, located in the 5100 block of Warm Springs Road, at approximately 7:23 p.m. Upon arrival, they found Quandarious Reynolds suffering from a stab wound.

Reynolds was transported to Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Police said the incident began as a verbal altercation between Reynolds and restaurant employee 24-year-old James Applewhite. The argument escalated into a physical confrontation, during which Applewhite allegedly grabbed a knife and stabbed Reynolds. The victim was found at a nearby business after leaving the restaurant.

Applewhite was arrested at the scene and is charged with murder, aggravated assault and possession of a knife during the commission of a crime.

The Columbus Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit is leading the investigation. Authorities are seeking additional information from witnesses who were present during the altercation.
