Juvenile Arrested in Calvary Christian School Threat Investigation

Columbus police have identified an 11-year-old suspect in connection with a school threat reported at Calvary Christian School on Jan. 9.

The investigation began after a student received a text message referencing a potential threat and informed a parent, who contacted school officials.

Police immediately were alerted to the incident at approximately 8:03 p.m. and initiated an inquiry into the matter.

On Jan. 13, authorities identified the 11-year-old, who admitted to sending the message but did not provide a motive. The suspect was taken to the Terrell County Regional Youth Detention Center.

A hearing in Juvenile Court was scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 14.

School officials have worked closely with law enforcement throughout the investigation and emphasized their commitment to student safety. The school is set to reopen following the resolution of the case.
