Friday, Nov. 1, is the final day for early voting in Georgia. After 7 p.m. on Friday, voters must wait until Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 5 to cast their vote.
Early votes can be cast at the following three locations in Columbus from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. at:
· City Services Center, located at 311 Citizens Way, Columbus, Ga. 31906
· Shirley B. Winston Recreation Center, located at 5025 Steam Mill Road, Columbus, Ga. 31907
· Columbus Technical College, located at 928 Manchester Expressway, Columbus, Ga. 31904
To vote, make sure you have a valid photo ID issued by a government agency. Acceptable IDs include a passport, military ID card, college-issued ID, or a Georgia driver’s license—even if expired.
For those with a felony conviction, eligibility to vote is restored once the probationary period is complete, and the individual can then register to vote.
Muscogee County Director of Elections Nancy Boren reminds voters that firearms, political attire, and cell phones are prohibited at polling locations.
Also, voters should be aware of text scams claiming that people are able to vote online; and AI messages spreading incorrect information about the polling process.
