The Fountain City Mardi Gras Ball & Parlay transformed the Columbus Trade Center into a vibrant celebration on Jan. 25, 2025. The annual event, organized by the Fountain City Mardi Gras Association, serves as both a scholarship fundraiser and the official kickoff to the Mardi Gras season in Columbus.
Attendees, adorned in formal attire and festive masks, were treated to a night of live entertainment, including performances by local bands and DJs. The evening featured a traditional second-line dance, with many participants showcasing custom-decorated umbrellas, a hallmark of Mardi Gras festivities.
The event also highlighted the association's commitment to supporting education through its scholarship program. Proceeds from the ball contribute to scholarships awarded to local students, emphasizing the community's dedication to fostering academic achievement.
Residents raved about how exciting the event was. "I can't can't wait until next year," said James Doyle. "I had a blast last night! They did an amazing job organizing the events," said April Johnson. "I am already looking forward to next year."
The Fountain City Mardi Gras Association took to social media and expressed gratitude to attendees and partners for their support.
"We thank everyone attending Fountain City Mardi Gras' Annual Mardi Gras Ball & Parlay and special thanks to Columbus Trade Center."
As the Mardi Gras season continues, the Fountain City Mardi Gras Association plans to host additional events, further enriching the cultural tapestry of Columbus.
