The Columbus Police Department will present a donation to Special Olympics Georgia during a ceremony at 10 a.m. on Dec. 12. The event will be held at Rally Point Harley-Davidson, located at 3230 Williams Road.
The donation marks the conclusion of the 5th Annual River City Motorcycle Rodeo, which took place in October, along with additional fundraising efforts such as raffles, silent auctions and other community initiatives.
The total amount raised will be announced during the ceremony.
The Columbus Police Department has a long-standing partnership with Special Olympics Georgia as part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run, making it the state’s longest-partnering law enforcement agency supporting the cause. This collaboration underscores the department’s commitment to inclusion, community support and empowerment.
Special Olympics Georgia is a nonprofit organization that enriches the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities through athletic programs and community engagement. The organization aims to build self-esteem, independence and skills, while promoting inclusion and celebrating diversity across the state.
