Arrest Made in Deadly Hit-and-Run Incident

Columbus police are searching for 22-year-old Quentez Thrasher, wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of his stepfather, Sonny Chambers, early Thursday morning.
Officers responded to a call at a residence in the 7300 block of Sorrel Court at approximately 1:18 a.m. on Dec. 5, where they found Chambers, a Black male, deceased from gunshot wounds. Efforts by EMS to resuscitate him were unsuccessful.
Deputy Coroners Mary Eugene and Elizabeth Allison pronounced Chambers dead at 1:55 a.m.
The Columbus Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit launched an investigation and obtained arrest warrants for Thrasher on the following charges:
