The Columbus Police Department has launched its first-ever podcast, “Beyond the Badge,” aimed at building stronger connections between local law enforcement and the community.
Hosted by Public Information Officer Brittany Santiago, the podcast will feature in-depth discussions about law enforcement, public safety and the people working behind the badge.
The debut episode includes an exclusive interview with Police Chief Stoney Mathis, who shares insights into his background in law enforcement, his vision for the department and his goals for the future of public safety in Columbus.
“We are committed to transparency and engagement,” Mathis said. “Beyond the Badge is an opportunity to have real conversations about the work we do, the challenges we face and how we can better serve our community.”
Future episodes will include interviews with officers from specialized units, civilian staff and local community leaders, offering listeners a behind-the-scenes look at the department’s operations and initiatives.
The podcast is available on platforms such as Spotify, Apple Podcasts and Amazon Music. For updates and new episode releases, the public can follow the Columbus Police Department on social media.
