On Friday, Sept. 27, 2024, Columbus police responded to the death of an 8-month-old infant at a residence on the 4300 block of Rosemont Drive. Investigators discovered that the baby was placed on an angled mattress on a loveseat without safety precautions, leading to entrapment between the mattress and cushions.
Following the investigation, arrest warrants were issued for the infant’s parents, Kiara Davis, 27, and Miguel Badillo, 24, who were taken into custody on Nov. 13, 2024. Both face charges including second-degree murder and child cruelty. Their preliminary hearing is set for Nov. 15.
