Question:
As we wrap up the year, what’s one goal you’re proud to have accomplished in 2024? What’s at the top of your list for your New Year’s resolutions in 2025?
- Korraye Rudd: "My goal this year is to accomplish a full year in fitness. It's a new thing to me. So, being able to face adversity the way I have, it makes me feel very accomplished. It gives me confidence in other areas of my life. My New Year's resolution is to reach a certain level of financial stability to get deeper into that like my LLC."
- Lula Knight: "One of my goals for 2024 was to get my health under control, which I did. My goals for 2025 are to continue to work on my health and to spend more time with my family."
- Xavian M. Stroud: "The goal that I've accomplished in 2024 when it comes to working at Morehouse is trying to step out and meet people in the area. I'm not originally from here. So, I'm kind of getting my bearings and getting my tread when it comes to talking and learning the area; and just stepping out and meeting people, kind of branching out, and all of that. So, I've really come along when meeting the doctors and physicians that we work with here, meeting a lot of the elected officials. I think that that has really helped me blossom a little bit in my professional phase. I'm not a person who establishes a New Year's resolution. I have the mindset that everyday is a new day. And so, when it comes to that, I step out everyday doing the best I can for that day and building on that each day."
- Marquis Avery: "One of my goals this year was to do a lot of traveling, and so I hit up a number of countries and had an amazing time. Another one of my goals was to move back home. And so, I'm officially back in Columbus, Ga., after seven years. So, God has been mighty good to me."
- Carolyn Hugley: "I think 2024 was a great year regarding our work in the Georgia General Assembly. We are so happy that we are doing things like we're doing today, honoring our friend and our colleague, Rep. Calvin Smiley. We have also arranged for him to have a portrait in the Capitol. So honoring people who need to be honored is a great thing, and so I think I'm going to put that at the top of my list for 2024. In 2025 we're looking forward to going back to a great year, and as the new leader of the House Democratic Caucus, we're going to be looking at opportunity. We will be working on economic opportunity, educational advancement opportunity, and healthcare opportunities for all Georgia citizens. So stay tuned."
- Teddy Reese: "One of the goals I accomplished in 2024 was to be productive during the legislative session, and we were certainly able to get that done. Other goals that I made were to spend more time with my family, wife and daughter, and we were certainly able to do that. My wife and I took a vacation. We haven't vacationed in a long time, with her being a doctor and myself serving as an attorney in the legislature... Those are certainly two goals that I wanted to make sure we accomplished. Also, I have a New Year's resolution of just working on myself. I focused on many others and other entities, and I've got to spend a little time on Teddy. So, that's what I plan to do."
- Deonte Jackson: “I've had the pleasure of working on different sets for TV shows and editing for productions like Unsung. My goal next year is to push my content to make a name for myself in the filmmaking world."
- Jozland Monee: “This year I accomplished having a #1 weekend show while taking on events/cultural affairs coordinator for the City of Columbus. I put together community events reaching 10s of thousands of our local and neighboring residents, including educational, entertainment and political events. Although my ambitions continue to pay off, I strive to be better with time management as my intentions are to continue to reach those beyond the Tri-city area. I will focus on continued discipline and to show better gratitude to all those who have supported me in accomplishing all of my goals! Love while you can. Strive to love more.”
