The Georgia House Democratic Caucus elected State Representative Carolyn Hugley (D-Columbus) as the House Minority Leader for the 2025-2026 legislative term during caucus elections on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2024.
“I am grateful to the caucus for their faith in me to serve as the next Minority Leader,” said Rep. Hugley. “Georgians are looking to us for leadership and need us to stand and fight for them. I have heard from our constituents, and they are concerned at the current status of our state and country – they want change. We must work to be that change and establish solutions for our great state with clarity, force, truth and persistence. I look forward to the next legislative session, where we will endeavor to ensure that Georgians’ concerns are addressed and good policy is executed.”
