In case you missed it!

The Muscogee Educational Excellence Foundation (MEEF) has announced the Muscogee County School District’s Top 3 Teachers of the Year: Christie Akers from Northside High, Nicole Hodge from Britt David Magnet Academy, and Stacy McClary from Wynnton Arts Academy. These educators are the pillars of our educational community, guiding students’ learning and development every day. While we congratulate these outstanding individuals, let’s celebrate the dedication and passion of all teachers who inspire and shape our future leaders.

Let’s talk about our outstanding student achievement this week!

As you may have seen at our last Board Meeting, we honored and recognized Miss Alexandria Lofton, a rising Senior at Columbus High School. Miss Lofton was selected among 36 girls nationwide to participate in an exclusive invite-only national team tryout in Charlotte, North Carolina. Securing one of the 18 spots on Team USA’s Junior Olympic National Flag Football Team is an outstanding achievement.

Additionally, being the first female athlete from Georgia to represent the country in this capacity makes this accomplishment truly historic. Miss Lofton is preparing to compete in Los Angeles in July for the Junior Olympic flag football game. You go, girl!!

Listen, second place is no small achievement. Cameron Jackson proudly clinched the second-place trophy, showcasing Spencer High School’s prowess in the Male Solo Category at the Literary Meet Competition. Way to go, Cameron!

Lastly,

MCSD is hosting a series of community meetings regarding the 2024 E-SPLOST. These meetings are an opportunity for the community to discuss the E-SPLOST referendum for the 2024 E-SPLOST Renewal campaign.

If you missed any previous meetings,  don’t worry – you still have opportunities to attend.

Here is the schedule for the upcoming meetings:

  1. 2. Tuesday, April 30, 2024 | 6:00 p.m. at Double Churches Elementary School
  2. Tuesday, May 7, 2024 | 6:00 p.m. at Rothschild Middle School
  3. Wednesday, May 8, 2024 | 6:00 p.m. at Richards Middle School

We hope to see you there!

Attention Parents!!!!

The Muscogee County School District (MCSD) is hosting the 4th Annual Summer Learning Experience (SLE) 2024 this summer for all students.  As with previous SLEs, the experience is designed to engage students in various literacy, mathematics, and enrichment learning activities. The District will collaborate with our local community partners to provide enrichment activities that support student interests in various areas, such as STEM, fine arts, and recreational sports.

Registration for the MCSD SLE 2024 will end on Tuesday, April 30th.  You will register your children for SLE 2024 through the registration app on the district website.  For additional details, please check your email.  If you have questions related to SLE 2024, please contact your student’s school.
